The Chairperson , Stephan Kerkyarsharian AM, and the Commissioners of the Community Relations Commission for a multicultural NSW invited 120 volunteers to the NSW Parliament House in Macquarie Street. They were invited to attend an event hosted by the Hon John Hatzistergos MLC Attorney General, Minister for Citizenship, Minister for Regulatory Reform, Leader of the Governement in the Legislative Council and Vice President of the Executive Council.
These 120 volunteers were nominees for the 2010 Community Relations Commission Awards for Volunteering. The ceremony was attended by the Premier, Kristina Kennelly and nine of her ministers. Four categories were awarded including the Volunteer of the Year. More informationon the event can be found here.
Kim Hopkins attended the awards as a nominee for volunteer work in support of Men’s Sheds on the Central Coast.
