Tourist Brochure

The Men's Sheds Central Coast Tourist Brouchure is available and being distributed to various locations about the Central Coast to promote sheds to visitors and provide an opportunity for some of our out of region fellow shedders to have a look a the local sheds while visiting the Central Coast over the holiday season.

Many of the Central Coast Shedders visit sheds on their nomadic travels about the country and want to extend the invitation to visitors to the Central Coast region.

Most sheds are taking a small break over the Christmas holiday period, so visitors please check the local shed contact if you wish to visit.

Central Coast sheds welcome visitors for a cuppa and to show off their shed.

Northlakes Men's Group Christmas

The Northlakes Men's Group celebrated Christmas at the Wyong RSL. The lunch was well attended by members and partners.

Many long term members of the group attended showing the enduring friendships that have formed through the regular discussion meetings.

The group is now led by Ron Borg, doing a great job in organising meetings, arranging speakers and supporting men in the local community to connect, form friendships and enjoy themselves.

The group was formed as a project of the San Remo Neighbourhood Centre and still meets in the centre at 1.30pm on 1st and 3rd Wednesday afternoons of each month, some four years later.

The group provided advice, support and the early membership for the San Remo Mens Shed.

Treasurers Workshop 2

The second Treasurers Workshop was held at Community Compass. Adele Johns completed the training component of the the treasurers role. The workhop was well attened with over half the sheds represented.
Treasurers have found the workshops informative and supportive. The aim is to give treaurers who work in a complex area the skills, information and resources to do the job confidently. Having others learning and sharing their skills, tribulations and successes makes this job just that little bit easier.

Well done to all those that attended.

More workshops in the new year!!

Toys to Salvos

Men's Sheds across the Central Coast can be proud of their contibution to Christmas this year.
Individual sheds contributed toys made throughout the year to support local families in need of toys for kids this Christmas.

The Salvation Army agreed to collect the toys from Mens Shed's at their Christmas Gathering at Alison Homestead, Wyong and distribute them to familes in need this Christmas.

Not sure of the number of contributions or the volume of donated items, the Salvation Army officer turned up in uniform to accept the Shedder contribution. He soon realised that a truck was required and returned after the celebration to load up. He was assisted in loading by Roman Paull, his wife and President, John Sharples.

After the fire on Saturday Morning, media notified of the event previously, contacted Mens Sheds Central Coast concerned about the loss of the toys. Quickly reassured that the toys would be arriving at the event and this event would proceed, they made arrangments to cover the story.

Nothing stops Santa or Shedders !!!

Nothing Stops a Mens Sheds Central Coast Chirstmas Function

Greetings Shedders

Nothing Stops A Men's Shed Central Coast Christmas Function!

By now you will all have heard about the fire which caused extensive damage at Alison Homestead in the early hours of Saturday morning.

But, as we say nothing stops a Shedder so the function is going ahead as planned and all we have to do is arrange a generator as there is no power on the site.

Please let your members who are coming know that they don't need to change any plans.

We have a survey for members to complete on the day and had planned for a worthwhile prize to be drawn from among the surveys returned.  This has now been altered to a raffle where all proceeds will be handed over to Alison Homestead in support of the rebuilding program.  Tickets will be $5 each.  If you wish you may simply make a donation to the cause and perhaps your Shed may even wish to make their own corporate donation on the day.

Whatever happens it will be a great day with entertainment, plenty of food and drink, the  Salvation Army donation and lots of time to get to talk with fellow Shedders (don't forget your name badges).

See you Wednesday.

Fire at Alison Homestead

Despite the fire at Alison Homestead last night, the

Christmas Gathering is scheduled to proceed.

Roman Paull from Alison Homestead Mens Shed reports that although the fire destroyed the homestead, there is sufficient area within the grounds to proceed with the event.

Power may  be restricted at the site, so alternte generators are being sought.

Kim needs to know the numbers for catering purposes by the end of this month, I'm sure this is already under control but there are alartyways people that won't give you an answer until the last minute.

Also

By now your toy factory should be really in full swing and if yours is like some of the Sheds I have heard about some of the products* are really looking good.

Thanks for the efforts your Shed is putting in.
