Funeral service for Ernie Brooker 12.30 today at Palmdale
VALE ERNIE BROOKER
Shed members were saddened to hear of the death of Shed stalwartand oldest member, Ernie Brooker, last Wednesday. Ernie had been in Gosford Hospital for some time. He was the Shed expert in scraping, sanding and painting of items salvaged by other members.
He had his 90th birthday last year and until this latest bout of illness he looked after himself and in spite of requests from his family not to drive he drove himself to the Shed each day.

San Remo Meeting Room
The completed meeting room at San Remo Community Men's Shed was put to good use today for a rowdy Toolbox meeting with lashings of cake and tea washed down with tea and coffee.
Yarramlong Men's Shed were keen to tell the meeting about their shed plans and enjoy the hospitality of the legendary San Remo Shedders.

Yarramalong Men's Shed
Three chaps attended the San Remo Men’s Shed today to gather ideas and obtain some guidance on the process of establishing a shed.
They are planning build the shed on the site of the Old Yarramalong Public School.
Yarramalong Public School opened in 1870 to serve the growing community in the Yarramalong Valley. The school ceased operation in 2008 due to falling student numbers.
The state government was seeking to sell off the property however local residents sought retain the site as a community centre.
The community when asked what they required to improve the community put the idea of a Men’s Shed at the top to their priorities. The local Neighbourhood Centre is an incorporated association and is auspicing the development of a Men’s Shed in the area.
They have a covered area formerly used as a children’s play area. Adjacent to this the Men's Shed Steering committee are keen to build a small shed and later enclose the covered area.
The three members of the steering committee Graham, Paul and Paul sought the advice of San Remo Shed due to its proximity and strong reputation for contribution to the local community as seen in the Express Advocate and other information sourced on the internet.
The Yarramalong Men's Shed Steering Committee have joined the Central Coast Shed Cluster Inc and are keen to join with the other Men's Sheds on the Central Cenetral Coast to have the advice and guidance as they go through the process of setting up their shed.

Bunnings BBQ by Wyong Men's Shed
Sizzling sausages |
Just a reminder that we have a
Wyong Mens Shed BBQ
this Saturday at Tuggerah Bunnings.
We kick off at 8am.
If you've said you can make it, we look forward to seeing you.
If you haven't already said so, and you can make it (even for an hour or so) please just come a long, it would be great to get the hand.
This BBQ is how we will hopefully pay for the Plans and DA for our new shed.

Shed Roundup June 2011
Alison Homestead
Alison Homestead is holding an event for History Week and have invited the Mobile Mens Shed to attend to assist in the celebrations. There is information available on the weblog.
Gosford Men’s Shed
Construction work has begun on the CoastShelter restaurant in the front of the site. The crew at Gosford are still working on Possum Boxes. However, they are also doing some good work that keeps them busy building backing boards for the making of leadlights. The pushbike project has started with Gosford City Council with many of the bike currently going to shelters where there are families that are underprivileged or homeless.
The Entrance Men’s Shed
The team have been preparing for the pouring of a concrete slab a the front of the shed. They have also finished their 711th Tissue Box for the Community Engagement Project.
Bateau Bay Men’s Shed
The Shed provided a range of stats but importantly there are 61 man visits a week at the shed. The shed is anticipating a grant to support the Community Garden Project. The operational garden is expected to have up to 47 garden beds in operation and separate meal area and tool lockup.
Terrigal Men’s Shed
Now open Tuesdays and Thursdays and growing strongly. Some of the Gosford Shedders attend at Terrigal on off days. The shed is seeking a 10” Drop Saw and some Jack Planes. The shed is currently self supporting.
Kincumber Men’s Shed
The Shed now has an operational spray booth. It is getting regular use by Phil Curry and there are a number of blog entries about the new installation. The Kincumber Mens Shed will hold its Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2011 and are encouraging all members to take on administrative roles to ensure a strong succession in the shed.
San Remo Community Men’s Shed
There are currently 9 boys attending from the Northlakes High School. Currently they are engaged in some electronics and have been taught some welding. The one quid pro quo for attendance is that they sit at morning tea with the men. The age range at the San Remo Shed goes for 15 to 87. Yarramalong School will attend the shed for discussions on a shed at their site.
Peninsula Men’s Shed
Bendigo Bank came to the shed to discuss banking and promotional opportunities. Council have approved the Development Application for the Mens Shed to be built on the site. There are some minor issues to attend to like Rainwater Tanks, Colour of the Shed , Sewage and Landscaping. The shed requires a Thicknesser and Rain Water Tanks.
Blokes
A group for Blokes is starting up in the Peninsula Shed. Eric provided an overview of the aims for this group.
Wyong Mens Shed
Development Application lodged last week. The Heritage Nature of the site meant consideration of the external appearance to match the “old school” appearance. So weatherboard look is required and a pitch of 30deg on the roof must be accommodated. A future mezzanine floor has be included in the design.
Manno
Manno Mens Shed is already an Incorporated Association and the group has been out to visit a few sheds in the region. The group plan to meet once every two weeks.
Central Coast Disability Network
Men's Shed Central Coast received the notification of membership for the Central Coast Disability Network (CCDN).
This will allow Men's Shed Central Coast to have ongoing access to newletters, participation in various working groups, forums and consultations.
Membership of CCDN provides access to The Central Coast Disability Network Information and Referral Service.

6ft Metal Lathe
Willoughby Mens Shed has received a phone call from a local Northbridge resident offering a 6ft metal lathe.
The lathe runs off of single phase mains power.
The removal of the lathe is the responsibility of the taker.
Know of any shed or organisation that could use the lathe?
Regards
