ABC radio at Alison Homestead

Scott Levi from ABC radio 92.5 broadcast from the Alison Homestead Men's Shed this morning as part of his ongoing programme exploring the issues for Men's Health Week 2013.

Roman Paull provided info on the Alison Homestead Men's Shed and the worderful opportunities to get involved at the Shed and the Homestead. Theres everything from cows and farm machinery to gardens and historical restoration.

John Walker spoke about the Toolbox Talks progarmme and his work with the Samaritans Older Parent Carer Programme.

Kim Hopkins provided an overview of sheds and their role in Mens Health.

Scott is looking forward to meeting the men of the Gosford Mens Shed on Friday!!

Nominations for Committee Positions open Monday 3rd June 2013 and close 3pm Wednesday 3rd July 2013.

 

All positions will be vacated on the 12th July 2013.

 

Only financial members can stand for Committee positions, nominate, second and vote.

• ABC radio will be broadcasting live from the Gosford Men's Shed on Friday 14th June 2013.

• tune in to 92.5 FM from 11am for Scott Levi's program in conjunction with Men's Health Week.

• The Shed will be open until 4pm with a sausage sizzle at lunchtime

FREE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WORKSHOP PROGRAM - DON'T MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE TO BE INVOLVED
Dear All, The Social Enterprise on the Coast Workshop Program has been running since the beginning of 2013 with participants including staff and volunteers from Not for Profit organisations, those looking to establish creative enterprises and entrepreneurs looking to make a difference in their community. Many participants successfully completed the 3 workshops in the series and are now ready to take the next step to turn their social enterprise or project into a reality. Apart from the skills and knowledge the participants developed, many reported that the opportunity to network, connect and form partnerships with the other participants was very valuable. The workshop program for the rest of 2013 is attached and will repeat the series of 3 workshops; 1.       Social Enterprise 101 – Giving you a better understanding of what social enterprise means. 2.       Starting a Social Enterprise 101 – How to test the feasibility of your social enterprise or project. 3.       Starting a Social Enterprise 201 – Providing you with the tools to produce a business plan that can assist with funding applications, stakeholder engagement and making your project a reality. Overall creating a road map for success. Numbers are limited so to avoid disappointment please register your attendance as soon as possible.
